The Parallel Between My Current Book Reading Habits and My Life

It seems that I have begun to read a number of books, but cannot seem to finish any of them. It is not that I do not enjoy these books, but rather, it seems I do not want them to end. So I read a little and then sit with them for a while. The book that I believe I will actually finish first in this stack, is one co-edited by a friend of mine. I just received a copy in the mail this last week and I am almost finished with it. It is called JUST MOMS Conveying Justice in an Unjust World (edited by Melanie Springer Mock and Rebekah D. Schneiter). I have completely enjoyed this collection of stories, and knowing some of the contributing authors has made me feel more connected to it. I am so proud of Rebekah, Marilee and the other amazing gals who worked on this project.

How does this relate to my life? It seems I am in a season of being somewhat overwhelmed with options, tasks at work, life questions etc...and rather than work on finishing these things as they bombard me, I seemed to have fallen into "slow-mo" where I can't seem to finish anything. I know this is a season and it will pass. I have too much "love of closure" to let this continue for very long. So for the time being, I will wade through the clutter and slowly make my way to the other side. Maybe finishing Just Moms will be the spark I need to finish other things that have piled up around me.
